How in the world can anybody cast a vote and not know who is controlling congress or who the leaders are? Is the media that bad or are the people that stupid? How much longer will we be a free people, if we know nothing about our leaders, or at the very least - who they are? NOT VERY LONG!

This week’s prize is the book “The Christmas Sweater” by Glenn Beck.
Because of the opposition to the adoption of the Constitution by the anti-Federalists, several states proposed amending the document to better protect the states, as well as individuals, from the incursions of the centralized federal government. Thus “The Bill of Rights” were drafted, debated, and eventually adopted.
Match the rights to the correct amendment.
1) The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated….

To Hell and Back
If your looking for something to do on a cold raining day and like old war movies, then I strongly suggest you watch the movie “To Hell and Back” starring Audie Murphy. The Movie is about the true story of the most decorated war hero in American History – Audie Murphy. Yep, Audie Murphy playing himself, now how many people can say that!! The movie starts when he was a boy in Texas with his family struggling to make ends meat, and then goes into his experience in the Army starting in North Africa and then onto Germany. The movie is a great way to learn about one of America’s greatest heroes, and is worth your time. The movie was made in 1955, and it has a run time of 107 minutes. For Classic War Movies, i’d give it 4 stars!!

History Challenge 11/10/08
This week’s prize is the book “The Second Amendment: Preserving the Inalienable Right of Individual Self-Protection” by David Barton. We’ll do two drawings this week (two winners)!!
Answer true of false.
1) The second Amendment to the Constitution reads: “The right of the people to keep and bear arms for the purpose of hunting game for food, shall not be infringed”.
2) George Mason (Delegate to the Constitutional Convention and is also known as “The Father of the Bill of Rights”) said: “What is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them”
3) George Washington made the following comments: “No man should scruple or hesitate a moment to use arms in defense” and “A free people ought ..to be armed”.
Why I bought a Handgun and you should too!
I have been thinking about buying a handgun for some time, but never made the commit until it became apparent to me that Obama was going to win and the democrats would maintain the majority in congress. I have always understood the importance of The Second Amendment and have owned shotguns and rifles before for hunting, but I have never had a hand gun (a hand gun is more practical for self defense). I did so not out of fear but out of responsibility. The following are a few of my reasons for doing so this week.
I believe that Obama’s Economic polices will wreak havoc on the economy. So, as unemployment rates increase and buying power of the dollar is less, crime will go up! As crime increases the police will be overwhelmed, and there is no way they can protect all the people all the time. So, I wanted to be better prepared to protect my family.
I serious believe that Congress will pass an ammunition ban relatively quickly; maybe even within a 100 days of Obama taking office (Government to ban ammunition). They will call it a ban on armor piercing ammo, but it will include all center fire ammo. Without ammo, guns will be useless (duh)! So, stock up on ammo – Now!!
I’m aware that it will only take one nut case to do something stupid (school shooting, or something similar – I pray it won’t happen), and this congress will react quickly to implement more gun control laws, making it very difficult and expensive to get any weapon for self dense.
As a Christian I did have some concerns as if I was doing the correct thing or not and most of my questions were answered by the following website: http://www.geocities.com/mikearion/christiansandguns.html, which I strongly encourage everyone to read.
I pray that I will never have to use it, however I do believe it is my duty to protect my family and I’m now better prepared to do so. “It’s better to own a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not own it.”
