Evolution is not scientific and only a fool says there is no God.
We were blessed to have had the opportunity to go to the Worldview Weekend event this past Saturday in Fort Wayne, IN. The first speaker was Dr. Ron Carlson who spoke on “Evolution vs. Creation” and the second speaker was Brannon Howse who spoke on “Understanding the Times and Leading”. Both were excellent and I would encourage everyone to check them out and attend a Worldview Weekend event. Below are some of our notes we took down from Dr. Ron Carlson.
Evolution is not science but just a theory (a poor one at that).
Science must be “objective.” That is it must be repeatable, testable and be confirmed.
Evolution goes against basic laws of Science:
Bio-Genesis (basic law of Biology) – Life only Arises from Life.
Laws of Probability – Microbiology: DNA and Complex Molecular motors. The Probability of these complex cells evolving over time would be like rolling a six (dice) 5 million times in a row.
Second Law of Thermodynamics: Matter does not evolve over time, it decays, and more time only equals more disorder. If you park your brand new car next to the ocean and leave it there for ten years – will the paint job improve or decay? Fossil Evidence: No transitional fossil records – if evolution were true there would be millions of transitional fossils (Lucy was found to be a fraud).
Natural Selection: Micro – Change within it’s own kind – all creationist agree –A Long hair Cat crossed with a short hair Cat you might get a cat with medium size length hair – BUT ITS STILL A CAT!! Change within its own kind is objective science. Macro – Change from one kind to different kind – no evidence – hogwash!!
So, my Christian friends do not be intimidated by these scientific types with their “big words” and letters behind their names. The Bible says that a man who says there is no God is a fool (Psalm 14:1). So, we should feel sorry for them and try to get them to understand the truth. Because, where there headed is a most terrible place and we don’t want that for anyone.
History Challenge 10/26/09. Creation: Science Confirms the Bible is True!!
This Challenge is now Closed.
This week’s prize is the DVD “Creation: Science Confirms the Bible Is True“, sponsored by the First Brethren Church of Burlington. They will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation Dinner on November 11th. All area veterans (any branch, reserves, or National Guard) are invited to attend.
Match the following quotes to the founding father who said it.
1) “I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth – that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?”
2) As the Declaration of Independence was being signed he declared: “We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His Kingdom come.”
3) “The Christian Religion, when divested of the rags in which they (the clergy) have enveloped it, and brought to the original purity and simplicity of its benevolent Institutor, is a religion of all others most friendly to liberty, science, and the freest expansion of the human mind.”
A) Samuel Adams B) Benjamin Franklin C) Thomas Jefferson

History Challenge 10/19/09 – Mr Smith Goes to Washington
This Challenge is now closed.
This week’s prize is the book “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Hunting“
On October 19th, 1939 the movie “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” debuted, starring this actor as an earnest young senator persevering against corruption. The film, one of the first in which he was the star, won him the New York Film Critics Award for Best Actor. Reporting to the draft board in February 1941, the 6’3” tall actor weighed only 138 pounds, 5 pounds under the acceptable weight level. He was turned down. He wanted to fly and serve his country but by May of 1941 he would have been too old to get into flight school. He went home and ate everything he could that was fattening and went back and enlisted in the Army Air Corps, he passed the physical with an ounce to spare. While others tried to avoid the draft, he actually wanted to serve in the military. At first during the war he trained other pilots on the B-17 (The flying Fortress) stateside, but pleaded to his commanding officers to be transferred overseas for combat. They finally yielded and in March of 1944 he was transferred to England and assigned to fly the B-24 (The Liberator) and did so for the remaining years of the war. His war record included 20 dangerous combat missions as command pilot, wing commander or squadron commander. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war he remained in the Air Force reserves and was promoted to Brigadier General in 1959. Name this famous actor.

History Challenge 10/12/09 – Irena Sendler
This History Challenge is now closed.
This week’s prize is the DVD “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas“
For her courageous actions in saving 2500 Polish Jews from the Holocaust, Irena Sendler was nominated for the 2007 Noble Peace Prize. As a Social Welfare worker, she had a special permit to enter the Warsaw Ghetto to check for signs of typhus, during these visits she managed to smuggle out small children and infants in her tool box and other boxes. In 1943 she was arrested by the Gestapo, severely tortured, and sentenced to death. The Żegota (Polish underground -the Council to Aid Jews) saved her by bribing German guards on the way to her execution. She was left in the woods, unconscious and with broken arms and legs. For the remainder of the war, she lived in hiding, but continued her work for the Jewish children. After the war, she attempted to find the children and return them to their parents. However, almost all of their parents had been killed at the Treblinka extermination camp or had gone missing otherwise. The Noble Peace Prize committee did not choose Irena for the 2007 Peace Prize, but instead choose this man for “his efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge” about man-made Global Warming. Name the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winner.
