Location: 6121 S 200 E Cutler, In 46920
Price per Target: 1 for $5, 2 for $9, or 3 for $12 (you are legally buying a paper target only with sales tax included in price– contest submission is voluntary).
Target: Patriots Club light rifle target (click here for sample) . This is not the contest target but is similar; actual target will be given at the shoot time. Each target equals one contest submission (So you can buy and enter as many targets as you like).
Firearm Type: .22 LR rim-fire rifle only, open sights (iron sights only -no scopes, optics or lasers of any kind)! Can use your own or we have a Ruger 10/22 or S&W MP15/22 available to use. Bring your own ammunition. Fortpatriot.com llc has some available at shoot site if needed for $4 per box of 50 rds (limit 1 box).
Distance: 25 yards from target to muzzle end of rifle. Will be already set up at shoot site.
Practice Class: We will hold a 1 hour practice class for anyone interested for $15. Class will include one on one training in safety, basic shooting fundamentals, shooting tips, will shoot 2 practice rounds of Phase I and II of the competition, and play a round of Battleship. Text or call 765-414-5147 to set up a class. Get a competitive edge with this class from a certified NRA instructor!!
Shooting: Phase I: Shoot 4 rounds from standing position (unaided) within 60 seconds (time starts at command: Commence firing). Once time ends and given the command, the shooter can (optional) reposition to either a kneeling, sitting, or prone position (unaided – no bags or rest of any kind allowed). Phase II: Once shooter is in position and given command, fire 4 rounds within 80 seconds (time starts at command: Commence Firing). 5 to 10 minutes of practice will be allowed before actual contest for sighting in rifle if shooter desires. Shooter must follow the Shoot Boss (Line Boss) commands at all times or be disqualified if found to be unsafe. Contestant can look at target (take picture) when done but cannot touch it.
Age: Anyone and everyone can participate. However anyone under 18 years old must have their parent or legal guardian sign the target giving permission for them to participate in the contest. Parents must determine appropriate shooting age for their kids and must be with them as they shoot.
Scoring: Any line shots are rounded up (any part of bullet hole touching the line). The added total of the 8 shots equals your score. Shots outside the ring but still on the paper target equal .5 pts. In case of ties; we will measure the distance of each shot from center of target and add all the distances up; shortest total distance wins. If by some crazy chance there is still a tie, we will take the stop watch time of each phase – add up – least amount of time – wins. All submitted targets will be kept at Fortpatriot.com llc until end of contest. Chris Peterson will be the final scoring judge on all submitted targets. A third party will witness and score any of Chris’s family members. A trusted third party will also check the top 10 scores to verify.
The contest winner (or guardian who will actually own and control the firearm) must past the required back ground check to receive the rifle or have to take the cash prize.
The contestant (shooter) must read and follow all range rules provided by the host range and comply with all Local, State, and Federal laws. NO loaded Firearms are allowed anywhere on property until on range and given the command to load. Shooter must bring own eye and ear protection.
The contestant (shooter) must sign the Waiver of Liability form at shoot location (before shooting). Must check in at shop before going to range.
Proceeds from this event will help us build a classroom for firearm safety classes and will be the same classroom we will use for our Carroll County Patriots Club for kids. Your help in buying these targets is not just about a building, but will help our kids learn more about our founding fathers and the US Constitution.
Thank You – and good luck
