NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course

 

Class: NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course now has two phases. Phase I is done online at https://basicpistol.nra.org/ . Phase II is the practical application of what you learned online and the qualification phase done on the range with a certified NRA instructor.

Date: Once you have completed and passed the Phase I online class; call us to setup an appointment to complete Phase II. Call or text us at(765) 414-5147 - Email: chris@fortpatriot.com .

Register: After we setup an appointment for Phase II – we will send you the link to register. Your NRA ID from Phase I will be needed.

Cost: Phase I is $60 paid online to the NRA. Phase II is $45  ($10 extra fee charged -if we have to rent and indoor range due to weather – winter time). Upon completion of course the student will be given a $10 coupon that can be used towards their next firearm purchase with us. We also have a referral program for students (Recommend this class to your friends and receive a $5 credit towards ammunition, accessories, and firearms - if and when they take the class). Upon successful completion of class the student will also receive a $10 discount towards an advanced class with us.

Food: Coffee, bottled water, and snacks will be provided for phase II.

Books: Students will have access to the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet via their Phase I online class.

Location: Phase I - wherever you want - so long as you have access to the internet (your own pace and schedule).  Phase II - Private Range near Cutler, In (by appointment) or Indoor shooting range in Lafayette, IN.

Phase 1 Description: Around 8 to 10 hours of online classroom time learning about the rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; shooting positions; and continued opportunities for skill development. Work at your own pace on your own schedule.

Phase 2 Description: Around 3 to 5 hours of range and shop time. Will review safe gun handling, go over range rules, shoot practical course, and clean the firearms in shop. Students can bring their own firearms if desired or can use ours.  We will provide 60 rds of .22 ammo for our handguns. If you bring your own handgun, then you will need to bring your own quality ammo for it (no reloads). Chris will be available to answer questions afterwards (confidential consulting).

Certificate: Upon successful course completion a certificate will be emailed to student.
